Music, as in any other art form is the reflection of the artist's life experiences, thoughts and feelings. The band then translates these experiences into tunes and melodies that evoke emotions and at the same time, entertains the listeners. We love to listen & make music. It's our cartharsis.
Band/artist history
ETCHET ASEHAN - VOCALS JOOLS CESAR - BASS MIKE DUCUSIN - GUITARS WENDELL QUINTO - DRUMS Lumina, derived from the word Luminism, which is a form of painting in which the effect of light on objects are realistically rendered. In the same way, Lumina tries to convey to their listeners the events they are going thru. But what makes them different is that they express themselves on a more positive light in a time where cynicism seems to be more appealing. From the very start, Lumina has been very keen on writing their own music and exploring different musical directions. It is this passion for creating new music keeps them together in spite of each having different influences. Lumina got together in September of 2005. Barely having but a few songs they can play, they joined Yamaha’s Asian Beat band competition the same month. They got thru eliminations without expecting getting called back for the finals. Excitement soon turned into anxiety because they were up against seasoned amateur bands. And also, because Lumina was just barely a couple of months old, they worked their hearts out and tried their best but unfortunately, they didn’t bag the title. This only fueled their drive to be become better musicians and improve as a unit. During the early stage of the year, the band was plagued with lineup changes. Each member came from different influences ranging from Brit pop, funk, rock and alternative in general. As diverse as their influences are, they were able to set aside the differences and inject their own flavor to the music they write.
