Band/artist history
The story of CT MADNESS began during the middle of 1998, when Chris Terzis (C.T.) had his first contact with the software music sequencer, Cakewalk Express. Since then he started composing music based on the MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface) technology. One of his first compositions was called "Madness" and that is how he decided to use CT MADNESS (= Chris Terzis Madness) as his musical nickname. During the period 1998-2001, C.T. was working on an Intel Pentium PC, with a CPU speed of 100 MHz, using Cakewalk Express and the relatively obscure soundcard Sound Vision 32 Gold (made by Malifax Computers (S) Pte Ltd), as his "virtual orchestra". During 2002-2008, he was composing on a Pentium 4 computer at 1.7 GHz, using Yamaha SoftSynthesizer S-YXG50 as the mean for the digital reproduction of instruments. Finally, from 2009 until 2010, the ultimate compositions of CT MADNESS were created on a PC with an Intel Core 2 Quad processor at a frequency of 2.5 GHz, again using Yamaha S-YXG50. In December of 2002, CT MADNESS joined the internet based music company MP3.com, and he was featured there until December 2003, when the company closed down. During that year he published his first album entitled "The Fragrance of Madness", under the label of Mp3.com. That album included 12 tracks and it was available only online at www.mp3.com. After the closure of Mp3.com, this album was available through Cafepress.com with 3 more tracks and later on Soundclick.com together with several other compositions. During the years, CT MADNESS became a member in many websites which were hosting music artists from all over the world and their work. Some of them were funender.com, garageband.com, musicplaces.com, audiostreet.net, and the aforementioned Mp3.com and Soundclick.com. CT MADNESS was also among the featured artists of the now dissolved indie record label Atom Sounds. Since 2003, C.T. is a member of midi-contest.com, currently known as composition-contest.com, which is a site that organizes midi composition contests.
