Story behind the song
Written in 1991. It came from smoking hash whilst on the dole and listening to drug user artists, all who had either died or gone mad. I'm writing a musical and intend to include the song in it.
Lyrics
Lazy, smoking my spliff, listen to a riff by... The late great Jimi Hendrix Waiting for a social benefit to arrive Crazy, smoking my bong, listen to a song by... A long lost Syd Barrett Drinking in the claret of his whine Nobody needs nobody Everybody needs somebody Nobody knows the answers To life and love and living in the Universe and of course It is so absurd have you heard That the chosen word has been disturbed Nobody needs nobody Everybody needs somebody Nobody knows the answers lately I've got a trumpet blow it, blow it I've got a trumpet, let's blow it today I've got a trumpet blow it, blow it I've got a trumpet, all silver and grey Hazy, smoking my cone Listen to the tone from... A murdered John Lennon Waiting for a number seven bus to go by Strangely, smoking my blow Listen to the flow from... A spiraling Charlie Parker Waiting for the days to grow darker Drinking time Time.
