John Stevenson was born in Las Vegas, NV in 1975. His early childhood was spent engrossed in his father's 1500+ LP vinyl collection; along with the "Hey boy, check these guy's out!" mentoring that accompanied it. John knew early on that being a musician is what he wanted, if not needed, to do. Stevenson began playing drums at 11, and by age 15, he was playing guitar and bass as well. Primarily a guitarist/singer/songwriter, he has produced and engineered his own demos for several years, playing all instruments himself. John has written hundreds of songs in a variety of styles; choosing not to subscribe to the "pick a genre, write similar songs and keep it that way!" school of thought. Stevenson is seeking a larger outlet for his songs and would also like to meet like minded musicians to possibly form an original band.
Well, like most musicians I respect and dig the "Hall Of Famer's": The Beatles, The Who, Elvis, Hendrix, CCR, Led Zep, etc... Other favorites include The Police, Beck, Lindsey Buckingham (Fleetwood Mac), U2, solo McCartney, Sheryl Crow, Eric Clapton, Cream, Stevie Wonder, STP, Stephen Stills, Dr. Dre, Nate Dogg, SRV, Howlin' Wolf, John Cage, Willie Nelson, Radiohead, War, Oum Kolthoum, BeeGee's, Vince Guaraldi, Louie Bellson, Sam Cooke...uh, let's just say I love music. Some personal boomerang mojo goes out to Michele, Pop's & Moom, Unc. & Auntie, Cory "The Greatest Drummer Who Didn't Think So" Nickerson and Uncle Billy.
