Sam Green, age 21, grew up in Merrimack, New Hampshire and began voyaging into a rap career when he was 14 years old shortly after being introduced to his soon-to-be stepbrother Mark Mennite. Mark started spitting freestyles, and instantly Sam was hooked. One year later, Sam wrote and recorded his first song with a few local rappers during his sophomore year of high school. From there, songs were written frequently as a unique style began to develop. Until the summer of 2008 when Sam went back into the studio and recorded 3 new songs, it had been over 2 years since he did anything related to making music. Going into college life at Clarkson University, he started performing to small audiences on the floor of his dorm to much approval from floormates. Since then, Sam's been starting to collaborate and branch out with other artists, has been featured on illmixtapes.com as Unsigned Hype, won TopMics New Hampshire's rap contest, recorded over 30 songs, joined forces with Sunny Boy Music, Inc., performed at several fraternity parties, and will be performing at Clarkson's 2nd annual LapSit, in addition to performing in Brooklyn for the semifinals of the TopMics Tour.
I do play live - Open Mics are always a blast (especially in unfamiliar areas, because everrrrrrrrrrybody assumes I can't spit until they hear me.... Then they're saying dammnnnnnnnnn), but I have performed at several fraternity functions, battled everywhere (the funniest time was hooking my Macbook to my car's speakers in a gas station so I could freestyle with this kid I met 10 seconds prior), Top Mics New Hampshire at Millyz was probably my favorite event though. Winning that, there really isn't anything sweeter, especially when all your friends are there supporting you.
