The music of Thomas TallChief could be described as a mix of a wide range of styles and influences, and has a sound that is very unique. The highlight of the music is Thomas's unmatched bass playing, but his musicianship shows throughout each and every aspect of his music. From high-speed guitar playing reminiscent of artists such as Yngwie Malmsteen and Steve Vai with bass playing matched in intensity, down to more laid-back stylings with smooth instrumental melodies, there's definite diversity in the music you'll find on this page. Thomas is currently involved in a new recording project and has several new tracks in the works. We hope you enjoy the music, and if you would like any further information or wish to contact or comment on the songs, please visit the "artist website" link to www.tallchief.com where you are welcomed to contact Thomas directly. Enjoy!
I started playing stand up bass around the age of 9 in orchrestra class. Then I moved on to electric bass around 14 years old in my high school jazz band and have stuck with it ever since. Recently (About 5 yrs ago) I picked up the guitar and piano, next I guess is to learn how to play drums.
My major influences would have to be Jaco Pastorius, Chris Squire from Yes, Geddy Lee from Rush, Billy Sheehan, and Yngwie Malmsteen.
Fender jazz and precision basses, Ibanez guitars and Ovation acoustic electrics.
