Love's Great Fan

Autobiographical narrative about love and life.
Brindl's voice makes you stop what you're doing and forget where you are. The moment she starts singing, the crowd is captivated. Like Norah Jones or Sarah Harmer, Brindl sings with sensuality and grace." (Drew Pearce, contributing writer for Acoustic Guitar magazine) Her new album, Acoustic Heart, is 12 original songs she recorded in her home-studio over the course of a year. Stark guitar, and hypnotic vocals, the songs range from emotional and poetic narratives like “Love’s Great Fan” to sultry blues song like “Acoustic Heart” and “Bootleg Lover.” “I was inspired by albums like Patty Griffin’s Living With Ghosts and Bruce Springsteen’s Ghost of Tom Joad. There is a rawness and honesty to a more acoustic recording.” Born in New York and raised in California, Brindl started writing songs at 16, soon after learning piano. She spent four years at UC Santa Cruz directing and scoring her own experimental short films, while developing her songwriting and singing. After graduating Brindl wrote and co-produced her first full-length album called Sweet Underneath in 2001 and then the Nice Girl EP in 2004, and began immersing herself in the local San Francisco/Bay Area music scene, including producing several musical showcases for songwriters. During her ten years of writing and performing, her intention has always been to allow the music to be organic and genuine. “You have to be true to what is coming through you or it becomes insincere.” In 2007 she started her own record label, Moxy Music, to promote and distribute her third album, Acoustic Heart. Moxy Music's mission is to support and cultivate independent music and the local/global musical community. “The impact of digital recording and distribution has made it possible to be successful with out a major record deal. With a leveler playing field, more musicians get to have a voice and be heard.”
