Movie Intro

And the movie begins.........
I have been writing & playing for over 21 yrs. I currently play in group called Smoke Ring, an original band in Indy, & haven't had this much fun in years(check out: http://www.myspace.com/smokeringindy for gig dates & info)!!!!! I've also jammed in several different original bands over the years(www.soundclick.com/emotionalfusion, B.L.E.V.E., Endorphin/Good 2 Bad, Cold Sweat, Southside Soul, Unknown Syndrome, Imaginary Playmate also on Soundclick.com, among others...), & for the last 6+ yrs., I have played in 7 of the best cover bands Indianapolis has to offer(Cockeyed Clyde, Killing Karma, Zang!, The Castle Project, The Cast of Thousands, The Stepchildren, & One Brick Shy). I still continue to write & record on my own & as you will be able to tell with the new album I'm putting together, tentatively titled "The Long Walk"(a concept album that I'm writing in memory of my brother, R.I.P. bro..), that I continue to branch out in different genres & styles of the music rainbow, all while staying true to my roots! Kick back, pop the top off a cold one & Enjoy!......... **DISCLAIMER** Everything you hear, unless duly noted, was written, performed, recorded, engineered, & produced(or not so) by me...... J.W.S.

Have you performed in front of an audience?
Yes, I play in Smoke Ring, a rockin' original outfit from Indy. I may also have some fill-in dates here and there with a chosen few, if I have the time! lol....
Your musical influences
Glenn Hughes(The God Of Voice/Voice Of Rock/Supplier Of Funk), Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, The Mars Volta, The Who(R.I.P. John!), Pink Floyd, NIN, Radiohead, Queens of the Stone Age, Eagles Of Death Metal, Tool, Soundgarden, Alice In Chains(R.I.P. Layne!), STP.... I could go on, but why???.......
What equipment do you use?
ACID Pro 3.0...... Cool Edit Pro...... Logic Platinum 5.2..... Alesis LX-20 ADAT....... MOTU 2408 MKIII & MTP AV USB......... + A butt-load of Analog Gear, Direct-X & VST Plug-ins & ATTITUDE!!!!
Anything else?
It's funny how the music scene in Indianapolis is......... You could have the greatest group of musicians ever assembled, to play music that people only dream of playing in a club/gig...... & people want to hear stuff that takes no talent at all to play..... I guess it only goes to show that in Indiana, there's a lot of sheep that need herding......... Good Luck to all of you out there & especially those of us that are stuck in Indiana!
