Come To The Lord (live)

Kirk McFarland on Bass, Wayne Deyoung on drums and John Matteson on guitar and vocals.
John Likes a wide variety of music. So these songs he has written and composed are each different in their own way. Some soft worship, while others rock and are louder. We hope you enjoy the music. Please leave a comment if you have the time. Thanks for listening.
Band/artist history
John grew up next door to Chuck Smith and went to the first Calvery Chapel on Church street in Costa Mesa. As the church grew he saw bands like Love Song and Darrel Mansfield. When he was twelve he decided to learn to play guitar. John took lessons with Carl Verheyen when he used to live in Newport Beach. Carl showed John how to play lead guitar. As a kid he liked to turn his amp up to get the desired tone. His mother always thought he was trying to torment her until he bought a distortion pedal. While he practiced his playing at lower volume, John was finally able to explain to his mom that the sound he was looking for was not intended to drive her crazy. After high school he formed his first band called the Shreddin Eddies with Greg Helin on bass, Ned Wilson on guitar and vocals, Marcus Nelson vocals and John Doebke on drums, Mark Koch on guitar in the later years at the factory. They played Hendrix, Doors, and originals (John's brother Richard has the tapes somewhere). They played at parties and rain soaked garages. They graduated to some clubs like Madame Wongs in L.A. They had alot of fun. John played his guitar in the worship band at Olive Branch Community Church in Corona, California. Pastor Ike Riddle and his wife Sharon were a great encouragement to him. Playing in many Christian worship bands; serving at New Life Fellowship in Hesperia, California, High Desert Church in Victorville, under the leadership of Jeff Crandall, and Adelanto Christian Fellowship with Pastor Allen Price. He had a pretty fun band for Adelanto Christian Fellowship. With Wayne DeYoung on Drums and Kirk McFarland on bass, were free to jam for hours at Waynes house. The neighbors never complained. It was great! (And loud!) Playing music is more fun than anything, just to know your music has touched the heart of someone you don't even know is mind blowing. To have that common thread, that passion of music, not in a rush, but to kick back and enjoy the feel of heart stopping, ground shaking sound that fills the air and ears of all who share in this passion!
Have you performed in front of an audience?
Playing live is such a rush! When everything comes together: the lights, Sound crew and the buzz of the croud - nothing like it!

Anything else?
The bible says, "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him Might be saved".(John 3:16,17) Jesus holds the keys to heaven. We don't have to do anything to "earn" our way to heaven. Just accept what He has already done for us. Just ask Him into your heart, confess that you are a sinner in need of a savior, turn away from your sins (repent), and He will save you! It cost Him everything, but it's free to anyone who will believe, without cost! "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord". (Romans 6:23) Follow your heart. Give Jesus a chance.
