Felix Degenaar
Here are some of my songs. It's difficult to put them into a category because I can't seem to make up my mind about what style of music it is that I'm making. Most of the songs seem to be a combination of ambient, lounge, trance, jazz-dance and trip-hop styles. Make up your own mind and enjoy.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
The 'band' is as old as I am. ;-) I have played the piano and keyboards all my life and I have played in numerous bands in the Netherlands. Lately I seem to focus more on producing. I am a co-producer for the band Organic (mentioned above) and I produce my own music as well. The creative process is very stimulating to me.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
I play live with the band Organic (http://www.soundclick.com/bands/pageartist.cfm?bandID=430196), in the vicinity of Groningen. Organic is different in style compared to the music that I make.
Your musical influences
Underworld, Scott Henderson, Weather Report, Steely Dan, Massive Attack, John Mayer, Pat Metheny, The Eagles, Earth Wind & Fire, The Carpenters, Toto, The Hasan Band, Bill Evans, Chick Corea, Chic, KC & The Sunshine Band, Royksopp, Bach (the composer)... the list is almost endless. Lately ethnic and folk music styles peak my interest.
What equipment do you use?
Software: Reason, Cubase, Recycle, Wavelab, Orange Vocoder, Ableton. Hardware: Roland XP80, Korg Mini, Korg Trinity, trusty old microphone.
Anything else?
That's about it - for now.
