14 Numbers from Sister Hazel, the Cardigans, Save Ferris, Semisonic, & More,
Featuring New Single from Letters to Cleo, "I Want You to Want Me"
Hollywood Records announces the release of the original motion-picture soundtrack for "10 Things I Hate About You," the outrageous new comedy from Touchstone Pictures. The highly anticipated cutting-edge teen film is perfectly paired with an enticing soundtrack album filled with 14 exclusive new and classic songs, including the latest single from Letters to Cleo, "I Want You to Want Me," originally a smash hit for Cheap Trick.
"10 Things I Hate About You" is the outrageously comedic tale of the Stratford sisters: pretty and popular Bianca (Larisa Oleynik), who has never had a date; and Kat (Julia Stiles), her older sibling, an ill-tempered harridan whose acerbic wit is matched only by her steadfast determination to alienate any guy who might be remotely interested in her. Unfortunately, strict rules in the Stratford household forbid Bianca from having a boyfriend until her odious sister has one of her own -- a situation that seems highly improbable, considering the extent to which Kat is a social disaster.
Bianca's desperation for romance is the catalyst for a convoluted scheme to match Kat with her male equivalent -- a guy whose reputation is so infamous that Kat might rise to the challenge and find him worthy of her concealed charms. Mating mayhem ensues when Patrick Verona (Heath Ledger), a sullen young man with a mysterious past, is bribed by Bianca's wannabe boyfriend (Andrew Keegan) to woo and win Kat, in order to clear the way for Bianca to begin dating.
Touchstone Pictures presents "10 Things I Hate About You," starring Julia Stiles, Heath Ledger, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Larisa Oleynik, Larry Miller, Andrew Keegan, David Krumoltz, and Susan May Pratt. Directed by Gil Junger, produced by Andrew Lazar, and executive-produced by Jeffrey Chernov and Seth Jaret, the film debuted on March 31. The original soundtrack is available now on Hollywood Records.
