Sean Kane writes acoustic folk rock songs, inspired by the Irish and American traditional sound, about people on the borders of nationality, identity, and culture. People caught between two places, physically and emotionally: immigrants, expatriates, and outsiders of every profession and persuasion.
Band/artist history
Sean has been a musician since he was seven. He played classical and jazz trumpet through high school. He was the youngest member up until that point in time to be selected for the nationally known high school jazz band. He was selected for solo trumpetist. As a guitarist and singer, Sean started playing out at Tommy McGann's Irish Embassy, south of Boston, in the early '90's. He is the founder (1997) of the Blackthorne Tavern seisiun in s. Easton, MA, USA. Sean has played with, or opened for: Liam Clancy, Robbie O'Connell, Jez Lowe and the Bad Pennies, Teada, Gaelic Storm, Liz Carroll and John Doyle, among others. His album, A NATION OF ONE: released through Arise! Records in April of 2006.

Yes: Every Saturday at the . First Friday of every month: with the Irish Thornes. Opening for: Jez Lowe and the Bad Pennies, Gaelic Storm; Clancy, O'Connell, Clancy.
