Welcome to Anchor of Our Soul's Ministry's Sound Click Web Site. We deeply appreciate your visit to our site here at sound click and your interest in Anchor Church. Anchor Church is a dynamic Spirit filled non-denominational church which is located in Ridge Manor in the heart of Central Florida.
We are approximately 45 minutes from Tampa and one hour from Orlando. Anchor Church is pastored by Rev. Fred Puentes along with his beautiful bride of 23 years Maylen. Pastors Fred and Maylen Puentes were born in Cuba. They moved to the United States in 1968 at the ages of six and seven. They grew up in Tampa Florida where they attended school all the way through seminary. They have two sons Nathen, 23, and John, 21 years old.
Pastor Fred holds a degree in christian Counseling from Faith Theological Seminary and is a Licensed Pastoral Counselor and Temperament Therapist. He is also certified through the Family of Motivational Living Institute. He was ordained and licensed through Faith Theological Seminary, The Mennonite Church and His Hands Ministries. He served as Program Director and Minister at Lakewood Retreat Center in Brooksville Florida, and both he and Maylen served as assistant pastors of a non-denominational church in Tampa before answering the call to come to Ridge Manor and begin Anchor Church in 1999.
Anchor's purpose is to fulfill our Lord's vision of perfecting training, and edifying the body of Christ, through the complete functions of the five-fold ministry gifts of evangelizing, pastoring, teaching, prophecying and developing and sending out apostles to continue forward in the great commission given to believers. This is done in order that the Body of Christ be unified, educated and encouraged to maturity in our Lord Jesus Christ, as it is so stated in Ephesians 4:11-13.
The purpose of our website here on Sound Click is to share with you the ministry of the Word at Anchor and the dynamic worship ministry of the Anchor Church Worship Team as well. At this present time we will provide sermons and sermon excerpts from Pastor Fred as well as Pastor Maylen. Soon we plan to make available mp3s of live worship from our worship team as well.
We are excited about having this opportunity to share our Ministry of the Word and our worship and praise ministry with you via the internet, and we extend to you a warm invitation to visit us in person at our lovely new facilities located on State HIghway 50,about a quarter of a mile from the Intersection of Highway 301 and Highway 50, across from the Ridge Manor Community Center, in lovely Ridge Manor, FL.
Ministry History: How and Why did God call Pastors Fred and Maylen to Ridge Manor, FL? Maylen and Fred fell in love with this area of Florida over 23 years ago; when they were first married. Maylen was about to be a mom, with the first of their two sons. The area was part of Fred's sales route at the time. On this particular day he asked Maylen to join him, and explained that he wanted to show her several areas that he thought were beautiful and made an impression on his heart as he drove through them. He really wanted her to see these places.
They drove through Dade City, Ridge Manor and Brooksville. Pastor Fred told Maylen that any of these fine little towns would be ideal to raise their children. Of course there wasn't much in these areas in the early eighties but non-the less, her feelings were mutual from that point that began to pray about moving.
For years they sought God but the doors didn't open until 1992 when Pastor Fred was offered a position as the program Director and camp Minister of Lakewood Retreat Center in Brooksville. Some of their most memorable ministry experiences occurred there. When their time was up at Lakewood, they felt an urgency to move back to Tampa where they served their church there as Assistant Pastors until God made provision for them to return to this area again in September of 1999.
At the time Maylen and Pastor Fred got the call and release to make back to the Ridge Manor area, they were serving as Assistant Pastors in Tampa. As always they prayed and began to ask God that if it was his will for them to move, to please open the doors. They felt it was important for him to "make a provision for the vision" they kept seeing.
In September of 1999 all the doors opened including a home and a job that would make it possible for them to be in Hernando County, FL.
They informed their pastors of what they had been sensing months earlier and asked them to prepare for whatever the Lord would provide for them. And so their journey began.
Maylen and Pastor Fred had hoped to take a sabbatical-rest from ministry for at least one year. But the minute that they got settled in Eastern Hernando county, they were flooded with new converts and Anchor Church came into being. Their home was the first place the church met until they could no longer contain the fourty or so people that were attending the meetings.
From there they met in club houses and meeting halls, and a store front building. IN the mean time Pastor Fred and many of the members of the church began construction of OUR OWN CHURCH HOME!!! The church began meeting in our new building the first Sunday Morning of December, 2005.
God is doing great things at Anchor as we began to reach out to the community in which we live and to the whole world through the internet.

Live Worship and Praise is a very important part of the ministry of Anchor Church. We have a very dynamic praise and worship team and worship dance team.
In our worship experience we believe in the implementation of the seven aspects or levels of praise.
Level one is the Todah: To praise with extended hands, in a sacrifical manor. Psalms 50:23 "Whoever offers praise glorifies Me; and to him who orders praise glorifies Me; And to him who orders his conduct aright I will show the salvation of God."
Level 2: Yadah: To lift your hands with all your strength, a radical movement of the hands, in thankfulness. Psalms 134:2 "Lift up your hands in the sanctuary, and praise the Lord."
Level 3: Halai: to act out, to rage, to act foolishly, to shout, to dance, to spin, to jump. Psalms 150:1 "Praise the Lord! Praise God in His sanctuary; praise Him in his mighty firmament.
Level 4: Zamar; Praise with musical instruments, to be expressive with instruments, clapping and voices. Psalms 147:7 "Sing to the Lord with thanksgiving; Sing praises on the hard to our God."
Level Five: Shabach; to shout with a loud voice commending God, Great is God Psalms 63:3 "Your loving kindness is better than life, My lips shall praise you."
Level 6: Barak; silence in his presence to bless God, to kiss his hand, kneel and wait for an ansWer. Psalms 103:1 "Praise the Lord oh my soul; and all that is within me, bless his holy name!"
Level seven: Thillah; new songs in the spirit, to prepare a throne for God to inhabit. Psalms 22:3 "But you are holy entrhoned in the praises of Israel."
