His roots in musical diversity coupled with his determined imagination, allowed Marcus to hear the music for what it truly is a blessed gift from God intended for His glory.
Born November 22, 1978, in Oktibbeha County, Mississippi, Marcus Van Every entered this world the second of four children. Raised by parents who believed and invested in Christian faith and values, family, education and a healthy appreciation for the arts, Marcus developed his passion for music at a young age. From grassroots gospel, folk and blues to more contemporary rock, soul and indie sounds, Marcus has been influenced by most every shade and tone on the musical spectrum. His roots in musical diversity coupled with his determined imagination, allowed Marcus to hear the music for what it truly is a blessed gift from God intended for His glory. At age 15, with the help of his brother’s hand-me-down guitar, Marcus taught himself how to play and began songwriting soon after. Now some 12 years later, Van Every continues to use his melodies and harmonious rhythms to fulfill one of life’s Highest callings the calling to leave behind the world a better place.

Music discriminates no one. It is in us all, no matter our race, color or creed. I respect music for what it can do. Van Every currently is not signed to a major record label and is independently writing and recording at his home studio, Royal Heights, in Tate County, Miss. He and his wife and best friend of 8 years, Abby, reside in Hernando, Miss., where they raise their two sons, Easton and Vance. ...
