My influences comes from a disparate variety of music. Born and raised in Louisiana, I was exposed to the highly syncopated, upbeat rhythms of zydeco. Then came a rush of rock n roll from Nirvana and Tool. After college, I somehow found myself into country and rockabilly. the artists that i simply can't do without are Hank Williams, Hank III, Wayne Hancock, Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins, Jerry Reed, Tool and Black Sabbath. Everyone else can go straight to hell to quote Hank III.
Modern country sucks. It doesn't sound like country at all but rather R&B with mandolin overdubs. If it weren't for guys like Hank III and Wayne Hancock, country would be completely dead.
