I love good music!!
Good compositions are borne from a combination of inspiration and perspiration. The inspiration comes in the form of the musical ideas you hear in your head, the perspiration is the hard work you have to do to develop those ideas.
Not lately. Played a few gigs in So Cal. Used to tell us ..... "grab your ax, got a gig to play downtown"
Played trombone and guitar. Both treble and bass clefs. May have a little talent in music. Who knows? Whether playing or writing, my goal is to understand Music theory. That Two-Part Harmonic Species CounterPoint is interesting. Still, a lot to learn.
Bob Marley, CCR, Lynard Skynard, Beatles (68-70s), Beach Boys (Good Vibrations), Eagles, Stones and all the early hits by the artist from 40's to 2000. Especially the one hit wonders. Real game changers. Last but not least, the Wrecking Crew.
Gibson F-note S335 and trombone.
After 2001 I think Music took a nose drive. Missing something. Just doesn't hit you. No impact, extremely hollow and somewhat tired. Adele had a few good hits and started to bust out of that L7. Even Bruno Mars had a good hit and video. Maybe it will change for the better?.
In closing, I leave you with a Quote from Carol Kaye ( bass player from the wrecking crew)
"What happened to music these days? It turned to crap!!!!"
