It began when I was working with the lead singer from Modern Day Slave. I told Fontaine I was an elf rapper and wanted to record a song. He introduced me to Mo Tabor who made the beat and we recorded Magic From Elves at Fontaine's studio. It took 2 1/2 years to record The King of Christmas Crunk. Since then, I've been trying to record new music and learn more about the biz.
I toured last season from Charlotte to Hotlanta performing in comedy clubs, nite clubs, Shriners Hospital for Children, and more. I was interviewed on Scene on 7 from WSPA. I love performing. My versitality allows me to do shows differently for kid/family/comedy than nite clubs. Some of the most fun I've had was at the Shriner's Hospital in Greenville, SC, where I went down in a limo loaded with presents for the kids. It was challenging, as the sound system didn't work quite as well as a boom box and I didn't use a mic. But to see these children with smiles, and of course my cd's, was unforgettable. I did 2 shows, one for the outpatients downstairs, and another upstairs for the kids who couldn't make it down. Afterwards, I made an attempt to meet with all the staff, thanking them for their care and giving them cd's as well.
I grew up listening to my dad's albums. So I listened to Elvis, The Beatles, The Stones, ELO, and The Eagles. Some of my first music included Prince, he's the man, and went on into rap like Run DMC, Whodini, LL Cool J, and Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince. I think that the different styles all come together in my music and helps create a unique sound.
Just me and my beats.
Do you believe in Santa? What about elves? Everybody's gotta believe in something and I'm here to remind peeps to recognize. Born half elf on my mama's side and raised in an elf colony, now I'm a rare elf living among people. I've had his own share of life's lessons which I implement in my music. The innovator of a new genre called Christmas Crunk which blends the banging beats of hip-hop with the holidays creating a unique balance that's clean, yet jammingly entertaining.
Now Robby's an elf underground. Beating the streets because nobody's gonna give an elf a record deal just because he knows Santa. And Robby The Elf has huge ambition. He's here to spell the message about the repression of elves. Robby wants everyone in the world to hear his music so someday, every child each Christmas eve will also leave, a cookie for an elf.
