TOO DEEP is a group of brothas straight from and around the streets of Baltimore city and we only speak what we know, done or going through in our lives right now! Our flavor is all our own and we enjoy creating new blends of Old Skool and New Skool rap styles. R&B is the foundation of Hip Hop music and we strive to go closer to where Urban music began. We can not pretend to be livin phat or talk about how much money we got, but we can speak of how thirsty we are to get ahead in this game of life! The realest of the real....TOO DEEP baby!!! "IT AINT EASY!"
MC Mello and myself started rappin around the birth of Hip Hop and never had any support in our area so we chilled for years. Mello is a freestyle rapper and being that he has lived through some serious stuff in his life, he has a lot to say. (currently serving)
We came up with the idea to just do it on our own and we formed this group about 9 months ago (and counting). MC K.I.N.G, MC Mello and Jaz-Z-D (me) are all old skool rappers, but true to the game and we added Rusty Tenn to bring in some southern flavor. Dirty Deuce (Deuce & Dirty Yo) was founded by Rusty and was introduced along with Young World to finish off the main members.
We try on the most part to stick with our own beats, write our own stuff and not follow all the fads in rap and just stick to what we know in this game. We do not stick to just doing one style of music and some of the tracks may not appeal to everyone, but each has it's own following whether young or old heads in Hip Hop.
Yes, we have done several performances locally in our area and plan on doing bigger shows in the near future. Our stage performances are getting pollished and we look forward to doing some big venues real soon...
Urban music as a whole is what influences our music, but music in general is important to us all! I like what a lot of artist are doing now, but every hit record over the last 20 years is motivation to keep putting down tracks. Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder, James Brown, George Clinton, Run DMC, Master P, Luke, even KISS and other hard rock groups are all influences of what we do today. It is hard to list all that molded artist as ourselves into doing what we do, but I give mad respect to everyone of them that came before us and put it down!
Reasons, Cubebase, Soundforge, Fruity Loops, EM-U 1820M, Mackie mixer, 88 keystation, Trigger Finger pad, Cakewalk, Plugsounds, Battery, Ozone, KRK monitors, M-Audio condensor and varies other Mics
We look at ourselves as being more of pioneers instead of followers in this game. In the beginning of a new thought (or anything different than the "norm") most pioneers are thought to be crazy or not knowing what they are doing at first. Many of the "Legends" started this way when creating new sounds and we will not change what we aim to do.
We as a group all live our lives as leaders and leaders can not worry about other's opinions and our job is to change their thoughts about what we are doing! All thoughts and opinions are being heard and we take them with honor and respect. For it is the listeners, fans and credicts that created this game!
We as artist in Hip Hop are partly responsible for some of the actions going on in the streets today and it is important that we change the way our music effects the moods and lives of our listeners.
