Pat-Darko Divine Music Chamber has been in existence since 2002 with the aim of raising the standard of choral music in the country and Divine chorale, which was established as the main performing choir under the music chamber, started as a performing group that operated on the university of education, winneba campus and performed solely for music students during the music department's annual final composition project presentation from 2006-2009.
As part of the music chamber's vision, an interim trio known as divine trio was established in kumasi in early 2010. The trio comprised Ellen White (tenor), Linda Adjei Ampofo (Alto) and Emmanuel Boadu-Darko (baritone & organist) and performed at two major programs in kumasi. Later, Divine quartet was also formed which comprised Helena Jubin (soprano), Linda Adjei Ampofo (alto), Emmanuel Boadu-Darko (tenor) and Douglas Kweku Mensah (bass). In pursuit to the standard of quality choral music, the executive director of Pat-Darko Divine Music Chamber, Emmanuel Boadu-Darko, a renowned young professional Ghanaian art musician, established Divine Chorale in kumasi in June 2010 and have raised the standard of music performance since its existence.
It was officially inaugurated in September 2011 and was widely attended by thousands of choral music lovers across the country. The group has performed at numerous high profile functions like the international leadership awards night (tuzoya oungozi), national peace makers rally at the national theater amongst others. The group also embarked on a nationwide peace campaign tour which was dubbed "11.11.12-sing Ghana 4 peace.
In view of the director's zeal and commitment to working in the Lord's vineyard through music, three other performing groups are getting ready to spring out from divine chorale sooner than later. They are mainly Divine Divas Chorale for females, Divine Gents Chorale for males and Divine Juvenile Chorale for junior vocalists. In due time, other ensembles like Divine string orchestra, Divine brass chorale and Divine acapella shall be established under the music chamber.
Divine Chorale has a credit of one album entitled "Divine Inspiration Volume One - Mitso Aseye". The album is made up of eleven (11) tracks, all composed/arranged by the Executive Director of the music chamber.
About 99% of our performances are presented live. We like it so much especially, performing it live on t.v and radio as well as doing it in large auditoriums like the National theater, Ghana
