Hello, this is Spiderlegs, the last band you will ever need.
Beginning as a child's dream, quite literally, Spiderlegs was an explorer and slayer of demons, along with the great Headbiter, slayer of more demons. In the year AD 1989, something changed, and weapons became instruments with which to create, not destroy. Spiderlegs embraced this heady change because destruction brings too much guilt, too much responsibility. Spiderlegs prefers to Eschew such Mettle.
Spiderlegs is recording. Creating is paramount to performing in the many eyes of Spiderlegs. But when the current project has been completed, Spiderlegs will play live once again.
Those who do not succumb to the formula of writing popular/rock/altish/r&b songs which have been in existence since the days before radio airwaves broadcast them. If you write a song that goes 12 measures from A to D back to A to D again, then to E, then D and back to A, you have not written an original song, friend thief musician...you have taken an existing song and sung your own words over it and then held it up like it was birthed from your undercarriage, when all you did was daydream while listening to it in its previous state and imagine yourself as its master. there are few bands who don't commit the same shameless act, however, they exist or once existed in the forms of my bloody valentine, cocteau twins, swervedriver, slowdive, skinny puppy, echo & the bunnymen, the smiths, bowie as a youngster, reznor, public enemy, nwa, immortal technique, killing joke and many more.
starting with percussion, a mixture of whatever the drummer has to bang on with some outstanding sampled sound instances--everything from firearms to children throwing rocks at a window, to the death rattle of an injured homeless person, to pocket change shifting pockets, to the crumpling of paper and car front ends. For any sort of vocalization, Spiderlegs has decided that the SM57 and SM58 are all any performer needs for expressing music vocally. The U87 is damn impressive, and that includes its thousandS of dollars price tag. Currently, the bass player uses softsynths to create the bass tones present in the musical outbursts carried out by Spiderlegs. This will not be the case for live performances, where the bass player will play a bass guitar consisting of 4 or more strings projected monophonically away from the performance with a large bass cabinet contructed by a reputable manufacturer of such things. The electronic sounds are created using too many resources to reference by typing in this space. Suffice to say, Spiderlegs appreciates the greatness of the DAW, the VST, the VSTi, and the VST3 and the appropriate controllers for getting the most from those sources. And finally, the guitar is the central piece of equipment used by Spiderlegs to thrill even the most casual and/or disinterested listener: utilizing the Fender Telecaster, the 300 semi-hollow body, the SG, and occasional off brands, along with another one of SPiderlegs favorite things: the amp sim. Currently, SPiderlegs uses the Vandal, the TH2, the Guitar Rig 5, the Amplitube, and others which have solved the once insurmountable hurdle of no digital distortion warmth and crunch, to enough that it kicks many different asses on its way to kicking ASS. Spiderlegs does not fear the future, Spiderlegs embraces it and kisses it on the mouth in a very wet fashion.
