MABRUK PLAYING FOR PEACE
I started to play mandoline and other small instruments when I was a small child and therefore unable to handle a big guitar. Then I got a cheap one when I grew a little more up. My dream was to play piano but my parents couldn't afford to buy one for me. Later I joined different groups of modern music, the last one was "Los Suaves" when I was living in Orense (Galicia) for three years and playing the lead guitar with them. Long before that I had been estudying in the Music Conservatory of Córdoba in Spain which was near of my home town.
I finished my proffesional studies of classical guitar when I was about 20 years old, then I was playing in concert all over Spain.
Yes, many times. But I mostly prefer to play among friends.
It could be rather difficult for me to say. In the beginning I was playing lots of music written by JS Bach and arranged for guitar plus many other classical guitar composers like F Sor, D Aguado, N Coste, Carcassi, etc.
At the same time I was studying and listening to other musicians from the Barroco times to modern music, but if I had to mention a few of them I would say Chopin, Schumann, Fauré, Ravel, Debussy, Stravinsky, Falla, Granados, Albéniz, Villa-Lobos, E. Nazareth, Baden Powell, E Satie... and many other.
I would say another long list including The Beatles, R Stones, The Kings, King Crimson, Chick Korea, Tellonius Monk, Elton John and... so many other that I would probably never finish.
None, just a microphone and a recording equipment.
Of course, thanks a lot to people who listen to me and enjoy my music in the same way I do when playing it.
