Maria Harp and Matt Otten have been working together for quite a number of years. Soon after forming their own band, they recorded an album of jazz standards 'Easy To Love', which was well received. Their next project was already a big one: an album with all-original music, written by Matt, and recorded with an international crew of musicians, among which were 4 of the world's greatest and most famous bass players. Because of the prominence of the bass and Maria's voice, the album was appropriately called '14 Pieces for Harp and Bass'. Reviews worldwide were very good indeed!
Their latest project together, is a very personal and intimate album of just guitar and voice, entitled 'Up Close'.
Maria is originally from Atlanta Georgia, Matt is from Holland.
Matt has released a special edition CD, in co-operation with luthier Frans Elferink, entitled Matt Otten plays Elferink Guitars. Check out www.mattotten.com. Matt is endorsed by Peerless Guitars.
His new 'smooth' jazz album is entitled Secret Combination.
