Ruthie Carroll was raised in church all her life. She began singing in the children's church choir at the age of 7 progressing onto her youth which lead to singing in the adult choir. She is loved and respected by many, yet she had a dark secret behind closed doors. Ruthie's desire to commit suicide continued as she to try and press her way. As time progressed she began to act on the suicidal thoughts attempting to take her life on several occasions. Thank God for a praying mother, her mother was persistent and adamant about keeping her before the Lord. Ruthie surrendered, cried out to God, the Lord intervened and delivered her in 1994. She has focused and dedicated herself to building the kingdom of God. As she progressed in life she continued with her singing, which has helped her grow spiritually and naturally.
She began singing in a gospel group with her family called the Spiritualettes B.O.G. Ministries. The group consist of, her father, mother, and sisters. Singing with the group, she has traveled to several cities and states spreading the gospel in song from Chicago, Racine,Tennessee, Mississippi, Atlanta, Virginia, New Orleans and many more. Ruthie had the pleasure of meeting and singing before gospel artists such as Lee Williams and Spiritual QCs, Keith "Wonderboy" Johnson, George Dean and the Gospel Four, Jimmy "Big Jim" Wright and many more with the group. Singing with The Spiritualettes one full CD album titled "It's All About Jesus"쳌 and a super single has been completed. Blessed with the honors of singing on the memorial service program held in remembrance the victim's and their families of the 911 crisis; one of the most tragic times in America, gave her the opportunity to express her love and concern for those who were grieving the lost of their love ones.
The more she blessed others with the anointed gift God has given her, the more she was called upon to sing and bring restoration to lost and hurting souls. The Domestic Violence Coalition Agency in the area where she lives, requested she render the music for an event called "Take Back The Night"쳌 which is held every year during Domestic Violence / Sexual Assault awareness month to individuals such as victims whom have suffered from sexual assault and domestic violence. In November 2005, she was beckoned by the Lord to complete her first single CD titled Ruthie Carroll "Take Heed"쳌 which consisted of 13 songs and now titled J. Ruthie Carroll...."In Your Hands". She is an anointed and dynamic singer who posses an awesome music ability
In spite of on going oppositions and perplexities in her life and society she have fixed her heart and mind to achieve goals and visions through God's provision by gospel music. In addition to being a accomplished singer she is a song arranger as well. During the time of working on the aforementioned projects is when she discovered the Lord had blessed her with the gift of writing prophetic songs, some of which are featured on the CD projects.
Ruthie's style of music is praise and worship with a twist of easy listening/mood gospel flavor. It has a way of piercing your hearts and causing you to wale in tears of relief, causes one to soul search and realize there is a true and living God whose able to deliver you from any situation. Her inspiring lyrics penetrates the heart to a deep desire to want to make a change. She has a sound of her own that appeals to all ages.
Ruthie's mission is to proclaim a prophetic word in song and praise, to bring healing to the sick and broken hearted, to bring restoration to the discouraged souls and continue to humbly seek the face of God in all things with praise and thanksgiving. January 1, 2005 she was in a tragic automobile accident and didn't know if she would be around to see the album complete. But, by the goodness and mercy of the almighty God she was blessed with her health and strength awaiting for the album to flourish. The album was both re-mixed and re-mastered to enhance the quality of the overall sound by Tate Music Group and was released in August 2009...
