Balta. Acoustic Rock that hits the heart.
Band/artist history
All of his recordings only use a 10$ mic, a 90$ guitar and a computer.
Born in Laredo, TX in 1982, Baltazar Hinojosa III started his musical career playing pots and pans in his kitchen when he was 5 years old. "I knew I would end up playing the drums someday" Balta explains, "It was just something that I was very passionate about ever since I was little". 10 Years later....Balta received his very own drum set. It did not take him long to become a solid, consistent drummer. "Life at 14-16 was all about Heavy Metal like Metallica & Pantera, and loud music...and trying to be cool... until you get a girlfriend." It wasn't long before Balta formed his first pop-rock band, with hometown friends (Rene Mendez, Joseph Gorordo) called Left Lane Closed. "I remember we would practice whenever we had the chance, but since we couldn't play after 10PM, I would go to my room and practice guitar".
Balta started playing guitar officially on his 19th Birthday, when Kenny Gottlieb joined as a drummer for Left Lane Closed, making Balta move to guitar and back-up vocals. "Music became so important to me after I started playing guitar, I would lie to my parents, my friends and even my ex-girlfriend just to spend more time with Music" Balta admits "But I can't say I regret it, I had so much fun".
Left Lane Closed took a break for a while ( college, work, etc.), but Balta and Rene Mendez continued to work together. "Rene inspires me creatively, and I just totally criticize his work, and tell him off, even though I love his music, so I guess we kind of feed off of each other--".
Currently, Balta is getting a career in Computer Engineer at Tecnológico de Monterrey while honing his recording/producing skills at his home, as he seeks to work in the music industry.
