Bakelit
Bakelit is all about flat sound - a kind of reality mix with all manners of tones. We don't do think because we think they are right. We don't really do anything at all. The public is never right. No one is ever right. Bakelit is false.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Ten years of bedroom plucking, plus the odd public disgrace.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
Bakelit makes a disgrace of itself late at parties, when all the competent musicians have left or fallen asleep. This happens once every decade.
Your musical influences
Eclectic: Beck, They Might Be Giants, The Cure, The Church, Billy Bragg, My-ziq.
What equipment do you use?
Nord Modular G2 Engine, an E-MU 1820 soundcard. Yamaha An1X, KX88.
Anything else?
Everything is generally badly played - it's all in the songs. Bakelit would love to collaborate with able musicians or singers.
