Alan Marchand is CEO of Backtalk Unlimited, located in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. Alan is a classically trained musician (Cleveland Institute of Music, where he studied piano under Dorothy K. Price). He has acquired extensive experience as a composer/arranger, jobbing musician, and educator. Alan's musical style grew out of the Be-bop era in the 1960s. His music evolved by incorporating jazz harmonies and rhythms into popular, traditional, and ethnic music. Many of his recordings feature extensive baritone saxophone solos reminiscent of the styles made popular in the era of Gerry Mulligan, Art Pepper, and Serge Chaloff. Alan's musical arrangements feature small groups, usually piano, guitar and rhythm background with woodwind and brass harmony/lead and occasionally with added solo and/or harmony vocals.
