Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
The history of Back Seat Driver is actually, in many ways, very complex. KC Steedle, Adam Huffine, and Kevin McDonald had been working on Ben Folds songs for about a month, when the band that KC and Kevin were in broke up. This presented the opportunity to start a new band. Shortly thereafter, KC, Adam, and Kevin formed what was then called "Quote Outta Context." To complete the band, they recruited Joe Mintz, a local bass player and quickly recorded a short demo in less than a week. Over the summer, 2004, all four members decided that the previous band name needed to change. After discussing many possibilities, the name was finally changed to BACK SEAT DRIVER.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
We will be playing in the FINALS of Ziggy's Ultimate Battle of the Bands on Friday, January 21st, 2005. Doors open at 7:00 pm. Ziggy's is in Winston-Salem, NC, so check the "On Tour" page for directions and details about the show.
