Ron Prothe - drums, vocals
Chris Nicklay - bass
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
The band was formed in 1993 in Topeka, Kansas. Members have come and gone over the last 14 years but the band is known for it's high energy rock and thunderous sound. In 2003 the band released it's first CD, "Dressed For Success". In 2004 "No Quarter No Mercy" was released, along with a companion DVD. In September 2006 the third Backlash CD "Tattooed Nation" was released and is the current material we are playing live. All the CD's also had a companion DVD release as well, including 3 live performances and a behind the scenes documentary. Backlash released their 4th cd "BACKLASH" in May of 2009 after two years of recording during triumph and tragedy, and is the bands strongest collection of original music to date.

Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
We play live locally and regionally almost every weekend. We love it, it's always fun to play music with each other. We've had the pleasure of being the opening acts for Stephen Piercy of Ratt, Artimus Pyle, Eddie Money, Cheap Trick, and Alice Cooper.
Your musical influences
The musicical influences run the entire spectrum of music, but the one's we've been compared to the most are Alice Cooper, Pink Floyd, Marillion, The Who, AC/DC, The Ramones, The Kinks, Spinal Tap.
What equipment do you use?
We use Yamaha, Shure, Fender, ESP, Epiphone, Gibson, Tama, Paiste, Peavey, Crate, AC, SoundTech, Zoom, Hartke..we have just about everything almost known to man..
Anything else?
Most of the time we perform without a set list so the music and the energy is raw and fresh. We're not afraid to be human and fail at times on stage, but most importantly we love to have fun playing music with each other. Check out the music and you'll see what we mean!
