I produce electronica Aztec Monkey. More precisely my music ranges from IDM to DnB to jazz influenced fromage. I write my music entirely for my own pleasure and benefit but having publicised it I've found that other people like them too.
I started making electronic music at a very early ages. I started by writing simple, monophonic tunes by programming BASIC on a spectrum 48k. Later on I started writing music on the Amiga using Aegis' Sonix. Although I can read musical notation, writing music in it was a added limitation to the software but at the time seemed wonderful compared to the Spectrum's single beep. Then after purchasing my first PC in the mid-90's I began writing electronic music in earnest. Since then my style has evolved and progressed until finally, in 2003, I wrote the first tune I was completely happy with: Monkey Tub Thumper. It was a tribute to Richard D James and named after his track "Monkey Drummer." Immediately afterwards I switched sequencer (Logic Pro) and had to relearn how to write music. As of about two years ago I finally regained primary control of the creative process and the result is the music you can hear now.
Not yet, but having received various offers to play live I will be imminently...
Aphex Twin, Squarepusher, Megadeth, José González, Led Zeppelin are just the first five that came into my head. The entire list would be almost infinite.
A PC, old copy of Logic Platinum, Ableton Live 6, Adobe Audition, millions of VST plugins, a guitar and a midi keyboard.
I'd like to mention some friends who also produce music which I really like. I don't think they are on sound click but they can be found by Googling. They are Ricko97 and DJ Beebeedee. I highly recommend them.
