Ayria
Is it Madonna singing Nitzer Ebb? Or is it FELIX DA HOUSECAT feat. Miss Kitten having a jam session with HUMAN LEAGUE? "Debris" is nothing of this yet somehow a bit of it all! Wrapping you up and plunging you into an explosive cocktail of influences and genres finding its roots in the early 80's electronic and ethereal music and evolving towards 21st futuristic electronica, mixed with old-school EBM giving a nod to electro-clash. Above all, "Debris" is the much anticipated album by AYRIA, aka ex-EPSILON MINUS' female lead-singer Jennifer Parkin (Toronto, Canada) and GLIS' perfectionist man-machine Shaun Frandsen (Seattle, USA). Assisted in studio by an array of special guests including Russia's DJ RAM (Virtual Server), Haujobb, Iris, DJ Delobbo and Massiv In Mensch. AYRIA is now ready to take center stage and proudly present their original and extravagant combination of aggressive EBM cuts with more melodic synthpop / techno tracks lavished with rich and expressive female vocals. An astounding palette of edgy electronic styles perfectly fitting the impressive vocal range of sexy and sassy Miss Parkin... 100% adrenaline pumping EBM clearly demonstrating in 13 lessons that "less" can be "much more".
Band/artist history
Ayria is the project of ex-Epsilon Minus singer Jennifer Parkin. The idea for Ayria began to take shape in January, 2003. Soon the project became mainly a collaboration of both Shaun Frandsen (Seattle, USA) and Jennifer Parkin (Toronto, Canada) who saw the album through to completion in September, 2003. Other musicians featured on the upcoming debut album, entitled "Debris", include Iris (Diffusion Records), Delobbo (Rubin Roche), Massiv In Mensch (Artofact Records) and DJ Ram (Virtual Server). Ayria's "Debris" was released November 7th, 2003 on Alfa Matrix and has since been receiving excellent reviews. The release has even charted on German's prestigious DAC charts. The album Debris can be described as a combination of aggressive EBM tracks with more melodic synthpop tracks lavished with rich female vocals.
