Relying on the love of Christ, I offer these songs back to You, Lord.
Born and raised a good ol' Texas boy...
I've loved Jesus since I was seven years old, but I didn't know what loving Jesus meant until I was 14.
I started taking piano lessons at 8 or so, and I started goofing off at the piano around 6. When I was 15 I started goofing around with the bass guitar and then Dad showed me some basic guitar chords. They're still the only chords I ever play. Oh yeah, and he showed me the pentatonic minor scale and the major scale. They're the only scales I know. I've never learned how to play drums, but I know enough about drums to make believable beat tracks in Garage Band.
I used to think I wanted to do music for a career, but now I think it'd be cooler to just do music for fun and then let everyone listen to my recordings for free.
Yes and no. I play guitar on Sundays and lead the youth worship on Wednesdays at Trinity Valley Church in Carrollton. It is a dream of mine to play original music locally, but I haven't found an appropriate venue yet.
I've got lots of influences but don't sound like any of them. Dream Theater, Pink Floyd, Yes, Switchfoot, Eric Clapton, Led Zepelin, Santana, Weezer, etc.
Vox ToneLab effects box. GarageBand 2009. Mexican Fender Stratocaster. Gibson Les Paul. Fender JP-90 Bass Guitar. IK Multimedia Stealth Pedal. Blue Snowball microphone. Line6 Delay Effects box. Boss NS-2 Noise Suppressor. Amplitube 2 effects suite. T-Racks Mastering suite.
I have a hard time writing songs when I'm in a good mood. Writing songs is easy when you're frustrated, in love, and overworked. When you're happy and life is good, there's no drive to write. I tend to write depressing songs...
