Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
AUM SUPREME, in its current mutation, was first conceived early in 2003 at a house party when DEAD PLANTS (Dane Mills) and SO SU MI (Suhrid Manchanda) bumped into each other in their respective stupors and resolved to start a live minimal techno cover band playing all the hits by local "post-rock" outfit, Constellation recording artists FLY PAN AM. early jams were primitive psychedelic jams involving an array of analog keyboards and beat machines. David "Billions" Barclay (of PARKA 3 fame) was signed on during these formative sessions, helping to pen the groups early pop "compositions" with vocal hooks and keyboards. soon, DP discovered Audiomulch software and introduced SU to the digital music suite. as the two began exploring the possibilities of digital music, Barclay forged ahead with his various pop projects.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
we only perform live, all recordings are live. AUM SUPREME has performed at clubs opening for acts as diverse as new wave revivalists SOVIET, new age funkers OUT HUD (members of !!!), underground rappers GRAND BUFFET and noise punk band MAGIC MARKERS. however, AUM SUPREME prefers to play loft/house parties and underground raves and indeed more than half of all our shows have been rowdy, illegal parties with varying themes at varying locations of varying sizes... and about half of these parties were shut down by the police. And so the saga continues...

praise::: Lorraine Carpenter for CHARTATTACK.COM (review of tuesday 22 July 2003 Show with Soviet & Out Hud) http://www.chartattack.com/damn/2003/07/2412.cfm " First out of the gate came local couplet Suhrid Manchanda and Dane Mills of Aum Supreme, ripping hard n fast beats out of their laptops and putting their backs into it for fat stabs of gravelly noise. Manchanda was the picture of energy, coming on with a big old rock/hip-hop show shout-out later returning to the mic for a few vocal spasms then spending half the set in the air, jumping and dancing every moment his laptop didnt require attention. For extra eye candy, the guys were flanked by dancers, two Mr. Robotos in future shades and black outfits tech-ed up by dollar store touch lights and kitchen gear salad bowl hats and cod pieces, duct-taped cookie sheet armour, you get the picture. So look out for Aum Supreme youll find them somewhere between the MUTEK army, Devo and AC/DC."
