We are a progressive Christian rock band out of Fort Worth, Texas! The music is the message!Band/artist history
They don't get much better than Brian Fleming! The man behind The Apostle. His vision has kept us motivated in down times and kept us building this project for over three years to the monster band we have today! A long time resident of Weatherford, TX., and a native of "The Windy City", Chicago, he's been playing piano and keys for over 30 years bringing that tough, Chicago bluesy, Rock (in your face ) Roll sound to Christian music.
Robert comes to us via Los Angeles where he spent the last year honing his vocal chops and teaching the Californians what singing is all about!!
A native Texan, Robert began singing at the tender age of 11 while playing trumpet in the band. From the age of 13 he sang in school and church choirs until he graduated, then becoming a professional singer.
He cut his professional "teeth" singing with his brother, Nunie Rubio, the singer for the legendary Texas Tornado Flaco Jimenez. His influences include Vince Neil, Steven Tyler, Henry Garza (Los Lonely Boys) and Nick Gonzalez (Salvador).
After a varied scholastic musical career, he found himself out in the world, unsaved, feeling unfulfilled. He went back to college to continue his musical studies, and although he did manage to broaden his musical horizons while there, his main accomplishment was meeting the love of his life, Suzanne, who in turn led him to accept Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. Since then he has played trombone in his church orchestra, played bass for the praise band, spent a year and a half in a secular heavy metal band, and now has finally found a home with his brothers in Atomic Apostle. He relishes the opportunity to help the band lead others in worship through music and is thankful to do so in the company of such gifted musicians. Praise the Lord, for He is good!
One listen to this guy and you'll know why we call him Smokin' Joe Love. (Yes that's his real name!) This guy sets the music on FIRE! Joe has been playing that guitar for over 30 years with influences too many to cite. His playing is bold and passionate, sometimes delicate and beautiful, always provocative. A true master at his craft.
He sports quite an impressive list of credentials. A four-year member of the US Marine Corps Drum and Bugle Corps, Jim studied at the Armed Forces School of Music at NAB Little Creek, Virginia Beach, VA. All tolled, his experience includes 23 years of playing and 7 years of teaching, having spanned various genre from orchestral, jazz, R&B, and rap to rock and roll, heavy metal, and progressive.
INFLUENCES: Jeff Porcaro (Toto), Rod Morgenstein, Mike Portnoy (Dream Theater), Omar Hakim (Sting), LIberty Devito (Billy Joel), and Nigel Olsen (Elton John).Have you performed in front of an audience? We play at churches, festivals, and rallies.
