Astro Jones
Back in '97, a young man by the name of Wayne Sonnier was thrown into the world of rap. Largely influenced by friends and ADD, Astro Jones was born. Mainly writing untill the year 2000, this man focus stongly on his music and poetry. At New Mexico State U., Astro Jones got a job working at KRUX radio (91.5 in Las Cruces, NM). From that point, his freestyle would start to advance to another level. Soon, Astro Jones started joining the local frestyle circuit in El Paso, Tx ending up winning 2 championships in 2003. Now, he focuses on finishing his album, with a hope that the door of opportunity would soon open and the world would get a chance to catch the "Sonlyte."

Solo Artist, no band members.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
I perform live. All my shos are done without a hype man. I also sing live on my set...I feel it adds a little uniqueness and flavor to the performance.

Hip-Hop: Black Star, The Pharcyde, Busta Rhymes, Slum Village, The Roots, A Tribe Called Quet, & The Fugees.
R&B: Al Green, Marvin Gaye, Raphael Saadiq, Brian McKnight, D'Angelo, & various others.

Not only do I write my own lyrics and sing, I also produce as well. Currently learning how to engineer with Pro Tools. "An emcees that only has one skill is as useless as a tree that bares no fruit. Master all skills and be come the tree that bares a plentful harvest."
