Asimov
Asimov are a rock trio formed with an ethos of 'songs first'. The no-nonsense lineup allows us to write guitar-based rock songs packed with hooks and melody, with plenty of energy and a minimum of fuss.
We are equally at home in the studio as we are live, but to us nothing is as satisfying as knocking out a good set to a willing crowd, and we think that a good audience gets the best out of us.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
As a pretty young band, the majority of our gigs have been pubs 'n' clubs, dingy and sweaty affairs, but we've been lucky enough to be given the opportunity to play a variety of places - theatres and outdoor stages, and we've played a few weirder places too as part of charity gigs, which we will always jump at to do. We have some shows booked further afield, and are looking to get gigging round some of the city circuits, like Lancaster, Leeds and Manchester, and some small gigs in these areas have come off well.
A highlight was our super-spooky Halloween gig at our local, with cobwebs, pumpkins and the entire band in skeleton suits and capes!
Your musical influences
We take our influences from a wide variety of music, but those that come out most in our music seem to be bands with a similar approach - good, simple songs played well. Hundred Reasons, Alkaline Trio, Foo Fighters, early Feeder and similar contemprary rock bands resemble us the most. If you like those guys then it is a good bet you will enjoy our stuff too.
