Asian Invasion
The Asian Invasion is made up of 4 girls: Peggy, Katy, Stephani, Christine... It all started about 4 years ago... Our songs aren't really acoustic/folk material we're more pop/punk/rock material but since we only have acoustic instruments, we make do with what we've got. : )
DISCLAIMER: We are in no way, shape, or form, associated with any porn that may coincidentally have our name.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
It all started 4 years ago when Christine and Peggy got together and wrote a song because they live in a small town so they had nothing to do... Then, they wrote another song. They had so much fun doing it and Katy and Stephani thought it was awesome so they all started writing songs and singing and playing... Pretty soon, they had a ton of songs and an actual band.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
We haven't really played live... Mainly because we'd laugh too hard while we play our songs. They all have a story behind them. Even on our album, sometimes you can hear us laughing during the songs. Maybe someday when we actually don't roll around in laughter while we play...we might actually play live.
Your musical influences
Basically everything and everyone...
------------------------------------
Peggy: Backstreet Boys, N Sync, Britany Spears, Michael Jackson, Blink 182, Janet Jackson, Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Live, Pearl Jam
Katy: 80's music Toto, Men At Work, etc.
Stephani: Punk Music, Frank Sinatra, Weezer, Ella Fitzgerald, Bing Crosby, Blink 182, Wheatus, Nelly, and more recently...80's love songs.
Christine: Same as Stephani (w/out the 80's love songs)
What equipment do you use?
We use acoustic guitars, violin, and fake maracas...
But we're thinking about adding in the piano, drums, and maybe the electric bass and guitar.
Anything else?
We really don't take ourselves that seriously. We make music because we love it...because we have fun doing it. Basically we make music for ourselves. We're just 4 friends doing what we love. We know our music isn't great but it is fun. Listen at your own discretion...Adults, excuse the cussing (It wasn't us!). Enjoy!
