Ashpool
Art-Rock Instrumentals. Ashpool has a following that cris-crosses the globe with fans in Japan, Singapore, Jakarta, Istanbul, Italy, Portugal, Great Britain, Buenos Aires, Texas and San Francisco. As a power trio our focus has always been to combine a unique sound with body-moving grooves.
Band/artist history
In July, 2001 the San Francisco instrumental trio Ashpool entered the studio with legendary producer Billy Anderson to record their debut E.P. "Subtitles in Stereo." Soon afterwards they were taking stages throughout the Bay Area. By 2002 Ashpool was performing with some of the Bay Area's best instrumental bands.
On April 26th Ashpool's set at Pete's 881 Club in San Rafael was recorded multitrack off the sound board. Two of Ashpool's most dynamic instrumentals and one amazing improvisation with Headshear guitarist Gwynn Adams were captured and have been re-mastered on Ashpool's new demo.
Late Summer 2002 brought radical change to Ashpool's lineup with the addition of Russil as singer/frontman. Three songs from the Subtitles in Stereo EP have been re-mastered with Russil's vocal tracks and included on the demo.
Ashpool is feverishly collaborating on new material that fuses Russil's melodic sensibilities with Ashpool's infectiously driving rhythms. Look for Ashpool's return to the stage in 2003.
