Asaph the Psalmist
Asaph
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
I started playing bass guitar back in 1992. I fell in love with bands like Metallica, The Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Faith No More, ALice In Chains, STP, etc. I played in various rock and progessive "jam" bands up until 1998 when I went to my first hip hop show. Up until then I had only been exposed to the hip hop supplied by MTV and main stream radio. I fell in love with poetry and pure flow I was hearing. I loved everything about the underground scene. Instead of cars, clothes, and chicks, it was about the love of music. I was hooked.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
I play local churches and clubs. I'm looking to branch out.
