"Hets" is swedish for mania or stress or ultra fast motion in the space-time continium. The Swedish duo Arvid & Love, named after it's two members (yes! Love is a Swedish name), creates "hetsy" electronic music, called "turbohets". Our mutual passion for silly yet catchy melodies and laugh provoking sounds is expressed in our music. The joy of composing half of a melody each makes our music slightly unpredictable. The scientific interest in filtering toyish keyboards through the SH09 filter and sampling and creating brand new soft-synth sounds makes our soundscape a source of happiness. Our turbohets is the key to inner harmony. Well... Hmm... Find out for yourself. And please rate and comment. Don't forget to visit our homepage, where you will find even more songs to download for free. If you like our sh*t, please tell your friends. We are going to spread like a plague... Hehe...
Band/artist history
We've been recording for about 3 years, I believe, and made about 15 songs. One album, "Hets of the Century" has been sold and distributed by ourselves, and is now available free for download on http://www.turbohets.com
Have you performed in front of an audience?
We do unfortunately not play live. Our studio material is (to a great degree) played "live" though, and not sequenced, except for drums and, sometimes, bass lines. This usually takes a lot of takes, so to speak. Playing tight on old analogue synthesizers is more or less a nightmare. And that's why we don't play live.
Your musical influences
There is one band worth to mention as an influence, the Swedish hot-jazz-synth-pioneers "Svenska Hotsynthquintetten" (http://shotq.webhop.org) People sometimes claim that we have a certain level of similarity to Swedish "blip-blop" bands like Slagsmålsklubben, 047 and Pluxus, which usually pisses us off... Hehe... Nintendo 8-bit music is also an influence worth mantioning.
What equipment do you use?
Synthesizers: Roland Sh3a, Roland Sh09, MicroKORG, KORG DW8000, Teisco SX-400, Casio Casiotone mt65, Casio Tone Bank We also use an old ACE hammond-style organ, sometimes pianos filtered through the sh09, a Fender 50s strat, occasionally, and, last but not least: a PC with cubase.
