LEASING RIGHTS for Beat Purchasing: If you decide to purchase a beat from Killah Kane, You will receive an encoded MP3 file of the untagged high quality and fully mastered song. The song file can be delivered digitally or through the mail on a CD. Leasing rights allow you to use the beat (or song) for ONE commercial recording or broadcast. This recording can then be distributed at your price for up to 2,000 copies. Selling more than 2,000 copies means you must acquire a new lease or exclusive rights. You may also use the beat for non-profit promotional use or demos. You CANNOT resell the beat. You will receive a contract in the mail granting you non-exclusive rights to the beat. In the event that someone buys exclusive rights to the beat you have leased, your rights shall stand and the beat is still yours to use for nonprofit use only. You may also acquire new leasing rights if you sell more than 2,000 copies since your contract predates exclusive sale. In the event that you have more than 2,000 copies for sale, you must grant royalties to the seller. You must however give full credit to the seller (producer name) on all commercial recordings regardless of the CD quantity. Upon purchasing leasing rights, the seller STILL OWNS the beat(s) and the seller is able to resell the beat(s) to any other party until exclusive rights have been purchased.
Band/artist history
I am 25 years old from Connecticut and my crews name is Harsh Realz which includes myself, Milo Sheff (artist), Ecue (producer), Jon Metal (producer), D-Mills (producer) and more. I am a recording/mixing engineer and music producer. I have been doing this for 10 years and have the knowledge, skills and equipment to produce and engineer music to make it sound like magic. I do everything from recording, to engineering and mixing and mastering, to beat production.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
I am down with a crew known in CT as Harsh Realz which includes myself, Milo Sheff (artist), Ecue (producer), Jon Metal (producer), D-Mills (producer) and more. I am the head studio engineer and producer and we have performed in various venues such as the Hartford Civic Center opening up for Busta Rhymes and Sean Paul, performed 3 times at the Meadows opening up for many artists such as Usher, Nas, Faith, Mary J. Blige, and many more, we have performed in many clubs around the area, we've had music played on radio stations around the country, had our music video aired on BET Uncut, and lots more special moments like the ones I have just mentioned.
Your musical influences
I make all kinds of beats but my specialty is story telling album type of beats. I love making beats that you can rhyme about a concept or story where even the beat has emotion which you can feel. I do make club bangers too but once again, my specialty is story telling type of beats.
What equipment do you use?
All beats are produced using a Korg Trition and/or an Akai MPC1000. For recording and mixing, I use Pro Tools with a Mac G5. I have various outboard rack gear which includes an Aphex Aural Exciter and Big Bottom, 30 Band Digital EQ, Focusrite Voicemaster Mic Preamp, TC Finalizer Express for Mastering, and many more. For a Mic, I use a Blue Baby Bottle condensor mic. For monitors, I use Mackie HR 824 high resolution speakers. For mixing boards, I use a Digidesign 002, Behringer MX 2004, and Mackie Big Knob for control and much more, too much to list. But the best tool that I have is the knowledge I have gained as being a music producer and engineer for the past 10 years. This is how and why I have a reputation of having one of the best quality sounds in the state.
