I'll Be Waiting I'll Be Waiting
Two acoustic guitars, four harmony vocals, and my only 'proper' love song, for want of a better description. My best lyric by far and also my personal favourite of all the songs I've written over the last 39 years. And all done in just one day...
Seasons (with Rob Bisacre) Seasons (with Rob Bisacre)
Me and Rob did two versions of this tune. One with the vocal melody and lyrics written by him, the other written by me. Rob wins hands down, and it's the one that gets uploaded.
Sophisticated Lady (with Rob Bisacre) Sophisticated Lady (with Rob Bisacre)
Rob's tip on how to split up with a girlfriend: write and record a song about her and then play it to her and wait to see how long it takes for her to say 'Get out!' (In this case, about 30 seconds) :-)
Vision#28 Vision#28
A new age-ish instrumental, one of three I wrote in a week after getting my new synth in 1997
Restless Heart (with Kizzy Morrell) Restless Heart (with Kizzy Morrell)
This one of 3 tunes I worked on with the wonderful Kizzy Morrel. It's just a basic blues number, but what really gives it a lift is her sensual vocal. Cheers Kizzy! xxx
Locked Inside This Tomb (with Andy Gregory) Locked Inside This Tomb (with Andy Gregory)
My oldest friend Andy wrote this lovely song. Yours truly did the backing and Andy tackled the vocals and lead guitar break
The Things That You Carry The Things That You Carry
Man, I was right on one when I wrote this! It's OK, but I've done other stuff that's way better than this.
Confidence (with Joolie Bowen) Confidence (with Joolie Bowen)
I had a backing track kicking around for a few months when my ex, Joolie, turned up and I played it to her. About an hour later she had a lyric for it and we recorded the vocals the same day. All in all, I reckon it turned out OK. God bless, Joo xxx
No Direction (with Rob Bisacre) No Direction (with Rob Bisacre)
A hard-rocking song, written by my musical partner Rob Bisacre
In Next To No Time (with Joolie Bowen) In Next To No Time (with Joolie Bowen)
Joo phoned me one evening and sang me a new tune she'd thought of. 2 hours later I had recorded the backing track and she called in to sing it the next day. Job done. It's kind of OK, I guess, and it went down well live.
Anything Real (with Michael Crow) Anything Real (with Michael Crow)
This one is VERY old, recorded in about 1994. The backing track was recorded on cassette and was transferred to 1/2 inch 8 track tape quite a while later for overdubs. I wrote the music and the lyric for the first 2 verses, with Crow doing the rest.
Lights Of The City (with Joolie Bowen) Lights Of The City (with Joolie Bowen)
Another very early song, written by Joolie Bowen. It hasn't really stood the test of time, but I uploaded it give any fans a complete history of my work.
