Timea Walker - Two Little Fires
Timea Szasz, aka Timea Walker, is a multi-instrumentalist (vocals, piano, guitar, tin-whistle, glockenspiel, other percussion), composer, singer-songwriter and music producer. The originally Hungarian artist has been influenced by many different musical styles; most of her compositions are wide and varied in style with elements of Central and Eastern European musical touches, while others incorporate many other musical elements from across the globe. Her styles; Eclectic Folk, Game & Soundtrack, Beats & Instrumentals, Film Music, Popular Music, Classical Music and many more. As Timea likes to refer to it, she was "born with music" and hearing abilities that allow her to pick up a broader range of frequencies than what are generally audible to the human ear. Thanks to this, she can hear and separate every single sound in music and audio by listening and play them back as they are. She has been able to do this ever-since she can remember, which has strengthened her love towards music even before the very young age of 2. She didn't have to learn or teach herself any aspects of music, she just "knew how it all worked" from the very beginning. She started composing, lucid-dreaming music and bringing pieces out of her dreams around the age of 7. She relies on her ear entirely and her songs are based on the music she 'hears' in her head. She has musical synesthesia (feeling to music), which means when she feels very strong feelings (e.g. euphoria triggered by a beautiful scenery) these immediately translate as original music that she describes she can "physically hear" in her head, which she can then play, record and expand into a full piece. She says: "Music appears out of the blue, like as if it was an instant Leitmotif of the present moment." "I was definitely put on this planet to create. As I was born with music, I don't do any music theory or scores at all, I simply deal with the original audible form of music, whether on a physical (music/audio everyone else can hear) or thought level (music/audio only I can hear): I just listen carefully and let music happen naturally. Despite that, I can create/produce music on cue at any time and to any description and complexity. I hear music in my head, which is waiting to be played and recorded; that's how my music is born. It seems like I have some kind of musical stimulus, as even just hitting a key on the piano can result in me suddenly 'hearing' a complex, original piece of music somewhere in my brain that I can then extract track by track and play, record and present to the outside world. Sometimes I hear very quiet, unidentified music that normally turns out to be the murmur of my computer, the fridge or the tap dripping: instead of noise, I can hear several musical notes playing together, which Im sure would be backed up by equipment that can measure sound and pitch. I have very sensitive ears and as I like to call it, amplified hearing, and a slightly differently wired brain, which makes this all possible. According to my ear test results, as well as my audible experiences, my ears are able to pick up a broader range of frequencies than what they say are generally audible to the human ear. I have the ability to separate or select each and every sound or instrument within music and audio by just listening to the piece and recreate / play back exactly what they play. My ears are able to pick up and pay attention to every detail within music, audio and sound. I can even slow these picked out melodies, rhythms, and patterns down in my head to make it easier to replicate, which only takes moments. Once I hear them its almost like as if theyve been recorded in my head, so I can tweak them and do whatever I want with them both in - and outside of my head. It seems like I have a built-in sound bank/musical memory somewhere in my brain as I can remember what keys songs are in that I havent heard in the past 10+ years and I can sing them in the right key before any melodies would come in before hitting play and listening to the actual song. Since she was a child, Timea created, and continues to do, hundreds of original pieces of music in a huge variety of genres, many of which have not yet been produced or published. Head over to the music page to listen to over 40+ of she produced herself and to get the feel of what it's like to hear what she 'hears' before her music has taken up a form that's audible to everyone else!
