Elvis Costello, Danny Elfman of Oingo Boingo, Neil Finn of Crowded House and Andy Partridge of XTC are my biggest musical influences as far as songwriting, voca
Orange County based musician whose background has come from playing in the rhythm section. "I love bass and would rather be playing it, but have never found the right situation so I am forced to create my own."
Band/artist history
My background has been playing bass with pop-rock, jazz, jazz-fusion, folk/rock, ska, punk styles of playing. I also have tried fronting groups for short stints, but always returning to playing bass and singing back-up. I have never thrown myself into songwriting like I have begun to do recently because of laziness on my part and always expecting/wanting someone else to do the work. I also have had to overcome the fear of putting myself on the line under subject to criticism as well as not believing that I had the ability to write meaningful music. I have felt the inspiration to study the guitar, songwriting and singing styles extensively the past 2 years in order to find my own sound. Through literally hundreds of hours of hard work I am finding a sound that I enjoy and I can claim as my own.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
Playing live and connecting with audiences of all ages is primarily why I do music. I play in the Southern California and I have done some extensive playing in Utah as well which I will continue to do.
Your musical influences
Elvis Costello, Danny Elfman of Oingo Boingo, Niel Finn of Crowded House and Andy Partridge of XTC are my biggest musical influences as far as songwriting, vocal style and arranging are concerned. Instrumentally on the guitar I am influenced by Johnny Marr of The Smiths, Elvis Costello, Steve Bartek of Oingo Boingo and Andy Summers of The Police.
