Hailing from the beautiful islands of The Bahamas, Tony "Rohmayo" McCartney was borne with a musical talent provided by his mother, a singer, and his father a popular local DJ of 30+ years. It was as if he was destined to fall in love with music. . He grew up with powerful musical influences including Micheal Jackson, Usher, Babyface, Notorious BIG, Jay-Z, Kanye West, and Bahamian Superstar, "Tada". After years of difficulty with finding musical support, and experiencing a tragic armed robbery in which his car was stolen a week after his 23rd birthday, He finally linked up with up and coming Bahamian producer Christian "Spirit" Taylor and plans to become the "Tony Montana" of the music industry...
I officially become Rohmayo on the 23rd of April, 2008. It was a week after my 23rd birthday when I was robbed at gunpoint of my car and some money (how ironic) and a year later I was on a plane headed to Los Angeles to promote "Hip Hop Rock Star" for the first time on my 24th birthday with my track completed a few hours before my flight had to leave. Up until that time, I was just a "karoke superstar" doing covers for different artists. Under the influence and support of "Tada", my manager Malik, and few good friends I was able to officially enter the artist world.
I'm still waiting to perform as an artist as I have done many covers for alot of Usher's songs. I still attend local events when local and foreign artists perform.
Micheal Jackson, Usher, Babyface, Jay-Z, Biggie, Rihanna, Neyo, Justin Timberlake,
I currently record at Fam Underground Studios so I use the equipment there. I dont have the budget yet to build a home studio.
I'm willing to travel and tour with any interested artists.
