One day I picked up my friend's right handed guitar - I was broke & left handed - so I just learned to play it upside down. Now I make "music" , put out these limited release records & have even been known to play the occasional open mic nite. I'm a cartoonist. I make art that's what I do . When I release an album it's everything, a story, a work of art, & a metaphorical documentary of my psyches exploration into the harshness & occasional tenderness the outside world has to offer off the beaten path.. -WBand/artist history
I've been singing my whole life, and making music since I was 15...I've been in a number of metal bands throughout the years...and always fucking around with acoustics on the side... I finally decided to sit down and record some of the stuff I always messed around with and ended up recording lots of stuff...different sounding stuff, raw very real sounding stuff. I thought long and hard & decided to release some of it..It didn't really fit with any of the other stuff I was doing at the time..so I decided since it was just me I'd lend my name to it. Turns out I have a very common name and others who have been blessed with decided to make music too...So I dropped an L and removed a space, put a period and ended up with the name Wil.T. I put out my debut self-released record on July 4th 2007 entitled "In-between Sex & Drugs". The original pressing of the record was released under the name Will T. This was an extremely limited release sold nowhere the only 13 pressed copies were left randomly hidden across campuses, malls, & local shops across South Texas. That was before I realized just how many fellow William Thompson's there are... As it turns out there are also a bunch of Wilt's...but luckily there is only one Wil.T! That's my story so far in a nutshell, there's other tidbits of random information for the avid reader below... The life I live is the life I sing... lets not over complicate things...just listen to the music & relax...

The sound of the music typically tends to lean more towards the sounds of the Lemonheads, mixed elements of the Violent Femmes, Nick Cave and such while managing to maintain a distinct unique sound. Wil.T started out as the singer for South Texas based Industrial Punk Thrash Metal heads Fuck the Main$tream, with whom he still plays an active role. He has also fronted numerous side-projects over the years, some of which still play on occasion. Each one delving into various experimental amalgamated musical directions. Wil.T has three self-released albums through his Fuck the Main$tream Records. 2007s In-between Sex & Drugs, 2010s So Gone, Im Here which features album art by longtime friend, collaborator, & Southpaw experimental industrial MC Barragan & 2013's follow up album Echoes in the dark being released this coming July 26th 2013 through Amazon & Fuck the Main$tream Records Official.
