The Johnny Rebb Band is an everchanging bluesrock-machine so the line-up is never the same. There is only one mission with this project and that is to get out there, play the music and feel good about it!
Yes, we play live as much as we can because that's what it's really all about: sharing the music with others. And sometimes we even get paid for doing it :-)
My first guitar experince (ha, ha) was seeing Jimi Hendrix on TV when I was 12. Man, he's the greatest! Another important influence, maybe the most important, is Buddy Guy, he's really the Wildman of the blues! And of course Stevie Ray Vaughan sends chills down my spine.Same goes for Johnny Winter and Rory Gallagher!
Let us not forget Freddie King, Albert King, Albert Collins, BB King, Johnny Copeland, Muddy Waters, I could go on like this forever. And I just LOVE Ted Nugent's stuff, he's the KING of attitude!
My main guitar is a red '62 Fender Stratocaster that I run through a Marshall Bluesbreakercombo.
My second guitar is a white Gibson SG Elite and finally a black (of course!) Gibson Les Paul Custom. The only fxstuff I use is a Tubescreamer and a Dunlop CrybabyWah.
My strings are GHS 011-052.
Oh, and ridin' the big V-twin is a major factor in gettin' new songideas.
Today when everything is digital this and digital that and "musicians" are making "songs" with samples and loops, it really makes me feel good to hear so many people still beatin' on their guitars, basses and drums, writing real songs.
It just shows that music is very much alive and Thank God for that! You can't beat a good tune!
