FAQ
Why would I need a license?
A license is needed if you want to use the music for anything else than just listening for your pleasure. Typical uses are
  • freestyling over a beat
  • licensing music for use in TV or for a movie
  • remixing or use audio samples
What are the license options and what are the differences between those?
We offer up to 5 license templates (Basic, Premium, Track Out, Unlimited, Exclusive) and it's up to the artist which ones he/she wants to make available. Each license comes with different perks. In general, the higher the price, the better the perks.
You can click on each feature on the left side of the comparison chart above to learn more about each one.
When will I get the track I purchased?
You can download all related files immediately after your purchase. We also email you a one-time download link for a download later.
How can I remove the audio tag from the track?
A "tagged beat" is a demonstration version of an instrumental that contains distinct audio watermarks that typically play throughout the entire track. The purpose of a producer tagging his/her instrumental is to prevent piracy and to encourage serious recording artists to purchase a license.
To get a tag-free audio please make sure you purchase a license which features "untagged audio".
I purchased a $1 download, why is the beat still tagged?
Beats purchased for $1 in our store are meant for streaming and demo use only, just like downloads from iTunes store or Amazon music.
To license a beat without audio tag and to use in a professional manner please buy a license from this page. Usually those are $25 and up.
What is a stem / trackout file?
A Stem file is an audio file that contains a track split into several musical elements: A drums stem, a bassline stem, a harmony stem, and a lead stem for example.
The Stem file also usually includes the original stereo master of the track for standard playback.
Why would I need a stem / trackout file?
A trackout file gives you much better control. Imagine you rap over a beat and you realize the percussions take the focus away from your vocals. With a trackout file you can simply tone down the percussion and the focus is now on the vocals. With a trackout file you have much more flexibility and a whole different level of control.
My late Father was a jazz drummer but he sold his drum set in 1952 to pay for hospital services for my youngest brother who was born in 1952. I think I heard a recording of the jazz trumpet player Chet Baker in 1955 or 1956 when I was six or seven years old; it was my introduction to West Coast Cool Jazz from San Francisco, California. Jazz recording artist as: Chet Baker, Gerry Mulligan, Paul Desmond, Dave Brubeck, Shorty Rogers, Bud Shank, Miles Davis, Henry Mancini to name a few. I learn to play a drum set in 1964 when I was 15 years old; An older high school student taught me how to play a drum set and I bought jazz albums such as: "Time Further Out," "Countdown Time in Outer Space," Time Changes" and "Time Out" by the Dave Brubeck Quartet. I listen to the jazz drummer Joe Morello and bought other jazz albums with Joe Morello on the drums. When I lived in West Covina, California from 1970 to 1971, I played with a great jazz pianist and played bossa nova tunes. In 1982 I wanted to learn to play the piano and I took piano lessons from Mrs. Sharpley in 1984. During the Fall Semester 1988 I played piano with a Cuban-Brazilian jazz ensemble at San Jacinto Junior College North Campus in Houston, Texas. During the Spring Semester 1991 I took computer MIDI(musical instrument digital interface)classes at San Jacinto Junior College North Campus in Houston, Texas and learn to compose music using the computer MIDI systems. I have my own computer MIDI music studio since the Spring of 1997. I began to listen to and enjoy movie music in 1980 and some of my favorite movie music composers are: Bernard Herrmann, Jerry Goldsmith, Elmer Bernstein, Henry Mancini, Leonard Rosenman, Hans J. Salter, James Horner. During the Fall Semester 1991 at San Jacinto Junior College North Campus in Houston, Texas I wrote a music theme and soundtrack to the video play Dracula by the Drama department; it was exciting and enjoyable. I took music theory, ear training and sight singing classes in Portland, Oregon at Portland Community College Cascade Campus from the Fall Term 2004 to Spring Term 2005 to help me write and arrange music on my computer MIDI music studio systems. My favorite musical styles are: "Cool Jazz"(from the 1950s and early 1960s), Brazilian bossa nova and samba, Cuban salsa, Movie music themes, music from the 1980s, Dance/Electronic, Jazz Singers. I was born in December 1948 in America and I compose original music using my computer, music software accessories, my creativity, musical knowledge, and I enjoy creating my original music. I DO NOT play in a physical band. In other words, I use different music software to create my original music; I do create my own original melody or melodic or harmonic theme to all my original songs. Let me try to explain by using the following example: I had the funds to pay for recording studio time, pay for studio musicians, and other costs for recording my original tunes and for publicity and distribution - I would. In other words, I want my original songs to sound as professional as possible with the music software gear I use or to sound as if physical human being musicians were playing my tunes. For example, if a popular recording artist were to play my original tunes such as: Diana Krall, Michael Buble, or any current popular jazz pianist or easy listening pianist or adult contemporary pianist.
