My goal is to make speakers knock, heads turn, and jaws drop with my beats. If it doesn't smell fresh when I'm making it I throw it out like old milk. I respect simple, effective instrumentals that bring something new to the played-out acid synth/808 combination that we hear day to day.
I started on FL and progressed to using hardware and real instruments. The first beats I made were terrible! Now they are only slightly better. Where will the future bring TomB? Probably into some kind of cyborg-controlled wasteland where my beats will serve to control massive robot armies. Or the future could bring.... poverty.
Nope. Studio production is where I'm at. I used to be a DJ and professional musician. There were some special moments there.
I like solid basslines, drums that attack, and slick guitar riffs. Some synthiness is ok, but not detuned acid synths playing three notes on a loop. Then it's a Nitty Beat.
Alesis, Roland, Akai, Mac, AKG, ART, Sony, Tascam. Hard synths, drum samples, guitar, bass, and keys.
