My "band" consists of me, a microphone, a pop screen, a keyboard and computer with Garage Band software. I write and record original, contemporary Christian music with a sense of humor. To describe the music in a secular sense, it would have to be "Zappa meets Weird Al meets Talking Heads meets Devo meets God." But don't let that scare you: much of the music is serious and all of it lifts up the Name that's above all Names!
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
What you hear is what you get...I started writing music again last December ('07) because I felt the Lord nudging me to do so.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
Only when I record. I love playing when I record. My special moment, when I record, is when I realize I got it right.
Your musical influences
What equipment do you use?
I use a Yamaha PSR-550 as a MIDI controller; I use a M-AUDIO phantom-powered microphone with a pop screen, and record everything into a IMac computer using Garage Band software. (I'm about to graduate to Logic Studio.)
Anything else?
God is good! If you have a talent, don't bury it like I did. And if you have, as long as you're breathing you can still dig it up, wipe it off and create something that honors God. He has a plan for you--even now. I'm on the old side of young and am determined to multiply the talent God gave me so that I can stand before Him and not here the words "You wicked, lazy servant!" Instead, I want to hear, "Well done, good and faithful servant!"
