"The Mensch, the Munchner, the Mannish Boy"
Born and abandoned in a Munich alleyway in 1986, Petrarchem von Gelding was brought at a young age to live in the American West by the haggard, eccentric, unemployed formalist critic Belgian-native who had adopted him. Rebelling against his only family and mentor, he ran away in his early adolescence to study American folk music and synthesizer technology first hand, all the while immersing himself in pop culture and postmodern theory. Now in his early twenties, von Gelding creates a unique yet familiar brand of avant electro pop rock from his small living quarters at an undisclosed location in the geographical middle of the North American continent. After nearly a decade of gestation and creation, he is now unleashing his first EP, Brownstone Pie Fire, upon whatever public should deem it desirable to consume. A double album containing songs from the EP and 27 others is in the final stages of completion.
